Happiness = Cupcakes

It's always been my dream to have my own cupcake shop. I just can't resist the sweet little treats and they're so cute too. Until I get rich, my little kitchen experiments will have to do. Some cupcake creations I hope to conquer in the near future:

Scarf Rack!

One of the easiest projects that I just completed is this nifty scarf rack that is simply made up of a sturdy hanger and shower rings. Since my apartment is pretty tiny, I've become obsessed with finding ways to save space and come up with unique, fun, and effective storage solutions that are pleasing to my very nit picky eye. Scarves are one of my favorite accessories and I never knew how to store them. This was the perfect solution because I can now store them and see them all at the same time. The best part of this is that the whole thing cost $1.99 for the shower rings.

Materials Used:
  • Sturdy Hanger
  • Shower Rings

Wedding Bouquet Shadowbox

Since I received a lot of positive feedback on this creation, I felt it would be a good one to start off the blog with. My wedding bouquet had been sitting in a box for about 7 months since I got married and I always kind of regretted that I didn't get it preserved since it was so beautiful, however, since I had a destination wedding, I didn't have the time or proper way to preserve and store the bouquet until I got home. I thought I would just keep the bouquet in a box and that would be all I could do with it until one day I saw this idea on Pintrest (i'm an avid "Pintrester"). I immediately fell in love with the idea and had to try it. Much to my disappointment, when I went to look at my bouquet it was much more brown and dried up than the last time when I was looking at it, however, I decided to try it anyways and I think it still turned out fantastic! It might not be preserved perfectly and as white as it was on my big day but I still love it just as much because of the memories and feelings it brings to me when looking at it. I also made sure to use every piece of the bouquet including sparkly inserts that were in the bouquet and the purple ribbon wrapped around the stems. If you want to give this project a try, let me know and I can send you the directions I used and I'd love to see a final product picture!

Materials Used:

  • 12 x12 Shadowbox Frame
  • 1 piece of 12x12 Scrapbook Paper for background
  • Hot glue gun and sticks
  • Bridal bouquet or any bouquet

First Post!

The thought of experimenting with a blog has been on my mind for awhile now but I could never decide what I would blog about. I thought about my random musings, rantings and ravings, the life of a live in res life professional, and documenting my life as a newlywed but none of that felt quite right because I didn't know if I would have enough to write about to keep myself and others (but mostly myself) interested. Then one day it hit me while I was working on my latest crafty creation from Pintrest that I should document all of my projects so that I can look back on them for years to come and share them with others. There's no formal agenda for this blog so I'll post when I can and you'll get a little taste of everything that I love: baking, scrapbooking, design, photography, and all of the things that inspire me to create and find the positive in life. Without a doubt there will probably also be some posts about my amazing family and friends too. I hope you enjoy!
